Today’s take FIVE ... Sunshine
These days are all ones that will be remembered in history. The year the world was sent home for a time out!
Time is funny thing! It is either passing painfully slowly or it’s racing by and you can feel it slipping through your hands like a penny down a drain hole. For people working in healthcare these days are fast and furious but for the people they care for... they can be long and lonely with further contact restrictions.
Today, instead of doing my normal routine of cooking breakfasts for Annie at her place (my 98 year old earth angel and first best friend) I dropped them at the door with some smiles, laughs and this balloon bouquet.
I wanted each resident, not just my Annie to be reminded they are loved and we are cheering them on! Many elderly people may have no family or regular visitors long before the impact of COVID-19.
To be frail, and feel alone or isolated is something no person should feel, Ever. Especially during a times of uncertainty. This is our reminder to the care workers, admin, and all the residents that myself and the FIVE are with you in this together. We are so grateful for your hard work and commitment to the people we love most!
I hope this sunshine will cheer up everyone’s faces as they come down for dinner tonight. Some cheer to remind each resident to smile! To stay strong because The sun is coming back! In life there always a rainbow after the storm. 🙂
If you can’t see the sunshine today ... be it! During the days that I cannot walk these halls this smiling reminder will guard the door and spread the cheer until the sun is back to stay❣️
